The Nursery

Alissa and I have been busy organizing and decorating Max's nursery......it is finally almost done.  It takes TWO of us because little Max is SO much help!!

Here he is finally alseep......with his body guard keeping watch......"Don't bother the baby" says Chispa!!

Here is Max being 'helpful' again!!  Notice he still isn't having any trouble eating......weighs 11 lbs 1 oz!!
Is this a future linebacker???

We finally finished..........the decor looks very nice.....clothes and baby necessities are all in their place (for the time being!) and it is a cute, comfy environment for our little Max......and his Mama in all those wee hours of the night and morning!!

Alissa's brother, Corbin, refinished and reapholstered this rocker which was in his living room.  Great job.....and a relief for a tired Mama to have a nice place to rock the baby in the middle of the night!!

Max is Settling In!!

I spent the day with Max and Alissa
yesterday.........organizing and decorating the nursery and hanging with Max.  We got the organizing done but not the decorating yet!! I even baby sat for a couple of hours in the evening so Lis and Dan could go out to dinner to celebrate their 7th anniversary.  (I was a bit nervous.....but Max did good breathing for me!  Whew!!)  He slept nearly ALL day....I am wondering if he and Alissa were awake ALL NIGHT!!
Here are some pics of the day.

Guess who bought this cute outfit???
Well....it says
"Grandma's Little Guy" and it has frogs on it!!

Max is HOME!!

Max arrived safely home on Saturday. I had a wonderful visit today.....lots of cuddling, feeding, adventures and just gazing at his cute, chubby little face.

Here is Max being investigated by his "sister" Chispa---She is pretty curious and was quite happy that I was holding Max so she could have a cuddle of her own on Mama's lap--

We got Max all packed into his little carseat and he promptly fell asleep........

After making sure the car seat fit in the stroller and we knew how to fold the stroller up.....(and discovering the reason it was hard to push was because the tires had never been pumped up....back into the house for tire pumping!)......Alissa and I said goodbye to Papa Dan and we were off on Max's first adventure into the world!

He slept the whole time....totally missing the adventure.  I guess that was a GOOD thing....here he is asleep in the car.......

We did errands at Target and Babies R Us.....seems like babies coming home need a lot of things......IMAGINE!
I held Max and his oxygen tank for awhile in Babies R Us when he woke briefly..........got a little heavy!
He woke immediately when we got home and wanted to be fed.  What a good little trooper he was!!

Getting Ready to go HOME!!

I stopped on my way home to see Max yesterday.  It is hard to believe that this 9 1/2 pound baby is the same little fellow who weighed 1 lb 6 oz just 4 months ago!!
He is scheduled to GO HOME on Saturday.  The oxygen people are at Alissa's house this afternoon setting up his oxygen tank.  He will go home on oxygen and will have have a monitor for his heart and breathing.
Alissa will spend the day tomorrow hanging out at the hospital with Max and saying goodbye to her new friends who have been so wonderful to Max and to her for these last 4 months.  What a big day Saturday will be!!

Still in Chelan.....Manson actually.....

Yesterday we drove into orchard country and ate at a quaint little place called Blueberry Hills Farms. It is so peaceful with the orchard country all around......just beautiful.

When we returned from our drive we relaxed around the condo and checked out the wildlife....notice the wildlife on our deck with a glass of wine!!
Today we drove to the Echo Ridge cross country ski area in the mountains above Chelan/Manson.  We hiked on the ski trails for 3.7K amidst wildflowers, mountain pines and gorgeous views.  The drive up to the area was a bit harrowing on steep, windy, gravel roads.

Lake Chelan-Lady of the Lake-Stehekin

I am enjoying a week of sunshine on beautiful Lake Chelan.  My friend Jeanne and I are staying at the Wapato Point Condominium Resort.

The picture on the right shows just a part of the resort from the water.

Below Jeanne and I enjoy some time by one of the pools......the view over the lake is also taken from the deck by the indoor pool and clubhouse.

Today we took an excursion on the Lady of the Lake....a boat that covers the entire distance of Lake Chelan from the town of Chelan to the tiny settlement of Stehekin. The lake is 50 miles long and the boat ride is 4 hours each way!!

 The Lady of the Lake
Float plane dock in Stehekin
Historic one room school house.
Rainbow Falls.....GORGEOUS

Beautiful views on the 50 mile ride through the North Cascades

A hilside closer to Chelan.  There MANY MANY wineries all around the area......the grapes look pretty climbing up the hillsides.
