Christmas Day 2009

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas to everyone!! Santa visited Lakeland Village for a Christmas party........I waited until all the kids were done and then took my turn!! As you can tell by my outfit I am having a hard time leaving the South Pacific behind and moving into reality!!

Home from Down Under

I am just home from my wonderful 67 day cruise to the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. It was truly a magical trip and it was hard to have it end and come home.....EXCEPT look what I had waiting for me! A new baby......Simon.....and me sweet older grandchildren...Norah and Elliott! They made my transition to real life much easier!

Happy 2nd Birthday NORAH!

Norah is 2 years old today......which seems totally amazing. She is sweet, fiesty, loving, talkative, playful, determined..........and 2!!!!

Bon Voyage

I play BUNCO once a month with a group of very nice ladies. Yesterday the hostess (Helen) had a little surprise Bon Voyage celebration for Diane and me. Diane is going to Hawaii soon for her first time. I am leaving in 8 days for my Dream Cruise. The party was fun even though I didn't win any BUNCO money!!

Grandchild Visit before I leave!!

I spent a couple of days in Puyallup this weekend. Afterall.....I just HAD to see everyone before I am away for 10 weeks. I was scheduled to clog at the fair anyway.....so what's a couple extra days when the kids are involved!

Friends

I had lunch yesterday at a friend's home. She has a lovely home and prepared a very nice lunch. It was a chance for some "old work friends" to get together. We only see each other a couple of times a year so there was lots of GABBING going on. I am thankful for lasting friendships....especially when these friends are willing to listen to me gab on and on about my excitement for my 'soon to be' dream trip!!!

Bill and Jane Hipp

I had lunch and an afternoon visit last week with my very good friends Bill and Jane Hipp. I haven't seen them in a long time......it is terrible how I let time get away from me like that. They have moved into a senior living complex called Christa Shores in Silverdale. It is very nice and has a wonderful view. We had lunch in their dining room......very tasty indeed.

Grad School Roomie Visits

My friends Jean and Lou Buffardi came for a visit last week. Jean was one of my room mates at the University of Pittsburgh where I attended graduate school from 1969 to 1971. The Buffardi's currently live in Virginia. It was a fun visit.

Dairy Queen Treats

I went on a spur of the moment outing on Sunday. I met Melody and the kids at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma. We had a short but fun visit at the Zoo and then the playground and then Dairy Queen. I just HAD to get a sweet treat for those sweet kids!!
