I finally decided on the camera model I wanted for my trip.......I got the Olympus Stylus SW 1050 and it arrived this week. It only has a 90 day warranty so I had to find some water warm enough to try it out in........no way was I going into the lake in January....but I have sinks and a bathtub!!
This is a practice shot of a boat with the waterline halfway up the camera......I will need to be taking lots of boat shots after all!!

I went snorkeling in the kitchen sink.....and behold.....a Humuhumunukunukuapua'a!! The camera was all the way under the water in this shot!
Had to play in the bathtub too......just to prove I could be playing in the water and not be nervous about the camera. The shutter was pretty fast to catch the water coming out of the faucet this way.
The camera has a pretty slick landscape mode too and you can choose to have the shots stitched together right inside the camera. This is standing in front of my house.
The macro settings are pretty amazing. I was just sitting there playing with them and took this shot of my leg..............I was wearing green sweat pants.
I signed up for my first tour today. I am very excited..........it is EXACTLY my idea of a day in Paradise. These are pictures from what I will be doing that day.........snorkling with sting rays and reef sharks, exploring the lagoon on an outrigger, snorkling in a coral garden on a small "motu" (reef island), watching lunch being prepared in true Polynesian style, eating lunch at a table actually IN the lagoon and feasting my eyes on the "easy to look at" Patrick who will be out guide for the day!!! This is a whole day with lots of time to lounge and explore the beach and reefs!! Ahhhhhhh......
